The Baron

Picture
Height 30"
Length: 144"
Width: 52"

A reclaimed table in the truest sense of the word. Reclaimed from old growth spruce beams used in large timber framing for a home. The massive beams that were sized 18" wide x 15" thick x 156" long had to be taken to a mill to be re-sawn into usable and more manageable sized planks. From there the wood was stabilized with an epoxy resin, dyed black.

The table utilizes knock down style construction to make moving this large, heavy object easier. The trestle portion of the table had a large tenon cut on the end which fits through a mortise in both legs. The protruding tenon is then cut and fit with a Walnut wedge to prevent the trestle from slipping back out through the leg. Finished to match the surrounding area.
